Fit the band first. It should sit level and feel firm on the loosest hook, since the band carries the support in a strapless style.

Ivory and champagne gowns, where bone reads closer than a bright white. Under thin or glossy fabric, embroidery can show texture; a smooth style such as the 8541 is the safer choice there.

Hand wash cold and lay flat to dry. Never machine dry a boned garment; heat distorts the boning channels and embroidery does not recover its shape.
