Josie Cruz Natori was born in Manila and built a career at Merrill Lynch, where she became the first woman vice president in investment banking, before starting The Natori Company from her New York living room in 1977. Her first hit was a set of embroidered Philippine blouses reworked as sleepwear, and that East-meets-West idea has run through the brand since.

02The Feathers bra, explained+
Feathers is a contour plunge: lightly lined molded cups, an underwire, a sheer mesh upper cup with lace trim, and the feather-motif lace band it is named after. Three things explain its following:
- It does not gap. The sheer upper cup stretches over the top of the breast instead of standing away from it, which is why shallow busts and full busts both report a clean top line.
- It hides. The cups are smooth under a T-shirt and the plunge center clears most necklines.

03How Natori sizing runs+
Natori bras use U.S. sizing and generally run true to your measured size. A few specifics:
- Core bras (Feathers, Bliss Perfection, Pure Luxe, Minimal) run bands 30 to 38 and cups A to G, with some styles starting at 28.
- Full-figure bras run bands 30 to 42 and cups D to H, with deeper, more structured cups.
- Strapless styles should fit snug in the band; if you are between sizes, go down a band and up a cup.
- Panties run XS to XXL, plus one-size Bliss Perfection styles that stretch to fit most.
