Full Figure Bras

A full figure bra is designed for larger cup sizes, typically D and above, with deeper cups, a firmer wider band, reinforced side wings and supportive straps. It gives full coverage and lift without the band riding up or the cups gaping.

Full figure (or full-bust) refers to cup volume — a 32G is full-bust. Plus size refers to a larger band and body. They overlap, and many bras are both, but you can need deep cups without a large band or vice versa.

A full-coverage underwire bra with a firm band and reinforced wings gives the most everyday support, because the band and structure carry the weight. Look for full-bust specialist brands cut in your true band and cup rather than a standard-size bra sized up.

The band should sit firm and level on the loosest hook, the cups should contain the bust with no spillage or gaping, the centre should lie flat, and the straps should stay put without doing the lifting. A band that rides up means you need a smaller band and bigger cup.
