34DD Bras

A 34DD means an underbust measurement of about 34 inches and a bust about 5 inches larger — roughly 39 inches. The number is the band and the letters describe the difference between those two measurements, not an absolute size.

32DDD and 36D. Both hold roughly the same cup volume as a 34DD — only the band changes. If your 34 band rides up it's too loose, so try 32DDD; if it digs, try 36D. Sister sizing fixes band problems, not cup problems.

There's no single look — the same size sits differently depending on your frame, height, torso length and breast shape. What's fixed are the measurements: a 34-inch underbust and a roughly 39-inch bust. That's the useful part when you're shopping.

It's a fuller cup on an average band, and one of the most commonly worn sizes. The letters can look dramatic, but DD sits in the middle of the range — there are several cups above it. What matters far more than the label is whether the band and cup actually fit.

The band is too loose — by far the most common fit error. The band supplies most of the support and should sit level, parallel to the floor, on the loosest hook when new. Try your sister size 32DDD: a tighter band with the same cup volume.

Spillage is a cup problem, so change the cup rather than the band: try a 34DDD (34F in UK sizing). Don't reach for a sister size here — sister sizing solves a band that's too tight or too loose, not a cup that's too small.

The 34 band should sit snug and level without riding up, the underwire should enclose the breast and lie flat on the ribcage, the centre should tack flat against your sternum, the straps shouldn't dig, and the cups should contain everything without gaping or spillage.
