A convertible bra is the multitasker of the lingerie drawer: detachable, re-clipping straps let one bra work strapless, halter, crossback, one-shoulder or classic — so a single bra covers almost every neckline you own.

The ways to wear it

• Classic — straps straight over the shoulders for everyday.
• Halter — straps to the centre and up around the neck for halter and high necklines. See dedicated halter bras.
• Crossback — straps crossed for racerback tops and extra lift.
• One-shoulder & strapless — remove one or both straps for asymmetric or bare-shoulder looks.

Getting the fit right

Because a convertible bra often doubles as a strapless bra, band fit matters most — it does the support work when the straps come off, so make sure it's snug and level. For fully open backs, compare with backless bras; for a smooth finish under fitted tops, a moulded t-shirt bra is ideal.
